Hubert Quintana has served on SNMCAC’s Board of Directors since 2005. Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Hubert spent a number of years in California, where he graduated from College of the Desert in Palm Springs, and then from San Diego State University, with a major in Physical Education and a minor in U.S. History. Hubert eventually returned to his home state of New Mexico, where he has held many esteemed professional roles, including his current position as Executive Director of the Southeastern New Mexico Economic Development District, providing area-wide planning and development services to the counties of Chaves, Eddy, Lea, Lincoln, and Otero, and the 21 municipalities within their boundaries. He has served in this role for 4 years. His past professional experience includes 8 years as Chaves County Manager, 6 years as Executive Director of the Water Defense Association in the Bonito, Hondo, and Ruidoso River valleys, and services as Executive Director of Students Incorporated, a youth employment services based in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Hubert has a distinguished and ongoing record of public service. In addition to his role with SNMCAC, Hubert current serves as President of the Roswell Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors. He is a member and past Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, an Urban Fellow of the Boys Club of America/Eli Lily Foundation, Chairman of the New Mexico Boys and Girls Club Alliance, a New Mexico representative to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Development Organizations, Chairman of the New Mexico Association of Regional Councils (NewMARC), and sits on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Colonias Infrastructure Fund. He is a past member of the All Saints Catholic School Board of Education, former Student Body President of College of the Desert, and past President of the Southwest Region Executive Directors’ Association, an economic development organization representing New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas. Hubert also serves as a Eucharistic minister to the sick and homebound.

Hubert and his wife Lynn have been married for 46 years. They have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He has lived in Roswell, New Mexico since 1978 and has served on SNMCAC’s Board of Directors for more than 10 years.
