Job Summary:

The Senior Citizen’s Program Center Aide provides assistance in carrying out the daily duties assigned to the areas of meal preparation, physical exercise, light janitorial tasks, and van cleanliness in order to meet SNMCAC Senior Citizens Program goals and objectives.   Assistance will be in accordance with the requirements and regulations of the Senior Citizen Program and the rules and regulations of SNMCAC.  Will receive instruction, training, supervision, and evaluations from the Site Manager.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GED, High school diploma AND One year (1) experience in related duties.

OR

  • Any combination of experience and education considered suitable by the Sr. Citizen’s Program Director.
  • Ability to express self, in English, in a clear, concise, understandable manner, both orally and in writing.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics:                            

  • Knowledge of SNMCAC and Senior Citizens Program polices and procedures.
  • Experience working with the senior population.
  • Experience in driving a transportation van preferred.
  • Experience in food preparation/service preferred.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Ability to express self, in English, in a clear, concise, understandable manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Reflect a pleasant attitude that represents SNMCAC in a positive manner within the community at large, and maintain a professional attitude to the employees, clients and public at all times. Project the same positive manner while attending community activities, training functions, seminars and conferences.
  • Compassionate in accomplishing the objectives and goals of SNMCAC and the Senior Citizen’s program.
  • Ability to gain and uphold the confidence and trust of senior populations.
  • Ability to interact with children and adults in a positive, courteous and professional manner.

Requirements that must be satisfied prior to attaining regular employment status:

  • Letter of Interest
  • Three Professional References
  • Proof of Educational Credentials/Degree (Per Job Requirement)
  • Drug and Alcohol Pre-screen Test (Per Job Requirement)
  • Local Police Report
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clear Driving Record
  • Proof of Current Vehicle Liability Insurance
  • Proof of US Citizenship, or eligibility to work in the US.
