Job Summary:
The Special Services Assistant is responsible for assisting in the implementation and administration of the Disabilities and Mental Health content area of Start program in such a way as to ensure quality as defined by the Head Start Performance Standards. The Special Services Assistant is responsible for improving outcomes for young children with identified disabilities or suspected delays and their families.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, Social Services, Human Relations, Social Science, Psychology related field ~ Or ~
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development, Social Services, Human Relations, Social Science, Psychology AND related work experience with young children in a Head Start or similar program. Previous experience in Head Start as an employee, parent or volunteer; experience or training in working with children who have special needs.
Salary – This is a Non-Exempt position $17.06 – $21.32 an hour depending on qualifications (related/yrs of experience, education, training, etc.).
We offer a 4-day work week (Monday – Thursday)
