Job description

The Assistant Head Start Director acts as Interim Head Start Director in his/her absence. Responsibilities include providing supervision/management support to the Head Start Director in the overall operations of the Head Start program consistent with agency policies, federal regulations, applicable laws and required funding source guidelines.

Assists the Head Start Director in planning and holding monthly (or more frequently if indicated) review and assessment meetings with Center Manager, Content Area Managers, and other management staff; coordinates the planning and updating of program plans.

Maintains excellent and proactive communication with parents, responding to their input.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:·

Bachelor’s degree in Education, preferably Early Childhood, Business Administration Public Administration, or related field from a traditional four-year regionally accredited college or university and three (3) years of related work experience.

· Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field and seven (7) years of related work experience.

· Prior work experience may include the following:

Budget preparation and management

Personnel administration and staff supervision

Program development activities and community relations

Program Planning, Assessment, and Evaluation

  • Knowledge of office skills
  • Leadership/supervisory skills
  • Prefer knowledge of outcomes based management practices

There is no relocation benefits available.

This is an Exempt position, Monday – Thursday, FT, 12 months. Pay scale is $30.50 – $38.13 per hour or $57,096.00 – $71,379.00 annually.
