Job Summary:

Part-Time:  Under direction of the Volunteer Program Manager, the Program Assistant provides service and is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Foster Grandparent.  Has primary responsibility for recruiting, training and monitoring Foster Grandparents. Responsibilities also include, but not limited to, file and record maintenance, typing, filing, answering the phone, operating office equipment, e.g., calculator/copier.  Will receive instruction, training, supervision, and evaluation from the Volunteer Program Manager.

Wage $12.00 – $13.50 an hour depending on education, experience, training, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and one-year experience in social work or a related field.
  • Must be proficient in computer skills including ability to use email, a word processing program, Excel, and Power point.

Or

Any combination of experience and education that is considered suitable by the Executive Director.                                    

  • Ability to interact and work collaboratively as a team member with other staff and partner agencies, both of which include people from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic background.
  • Ability to express self, in English, in a clear, concise understandable manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Clerical skills, including, but not limited to:  filing; proper telephone etiquette; operating a personal computer, fax, copier, 10-key, etc.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to express self, in English, in a clear, concise, understandable manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Knowledge of social service agencies.

 

Non-Exempt under FLSA

12-month position Monday – Thursday

8:00 a.m. –  12:30 p.m.

$12.00 – 13.50 an hour depending on qualifications (related experience/yrs., education, training, etc.)
