About this program

The purpose of the Child & Adult Care Food Program is to improve the health and eating habits of participants enrolled in family day care and adult care homes and centers.

The program offers reimbursement to the provider of these services for nutritious meals served. Reimbursement can be claimed for two main meals plus one snack or two snacks and one main meal. Eligibility requires that children be 12 years of age or under. Children of migrant workers can be 15 years of age or under. Disabled children at any age are eligible if the majority of enrollees are 18 years of age or under.

Nutrition education and assistance with menu planning are also provided free of charge to participating homes and centers through workshops and in-home visits.
