The (Substitute) Teacher Assistant, under general supervision of the Quality Improvement Supervisor and classroom instruction of the Teacher, will assist in teaching related activities which include, but are not limited to, record keeping, material processing, set-up, student assistance, tutoring and other related tasks which allows the teacher to increase the efficiency of the instructional delivery and program. The (Substitute) Teacher Assistant will assist the Teacher in the planning and implementation of educational activities in the classroom, consistent with Head Start performance standards; providing a learning environment which is interesting, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate thus encouraging each child to reach their maximum potential.  Will assist Teacher in any instructional, supervisory, or other task or need as deemed appropriate by the Teacher.

Positions needed in Artesia and Carlsbad, NM

Education and Experience:

Required:

• High School diploma or GED

Preferred:

• Three (3) months Early Childhood classroom related experience

 Non-Exempt under FLSA

This is on an as needed basis, there is no set schedule.  $14.00 an hour. This is not a benefit eligible position.
